Barry Walker

Barry Walker was born and raised in Sydney, Australia. He did his early art training at the East Sydney College of Art. At a young age he was accepted to train in portraiture with one of Australia’s foremost portrait artists, Joshua Smith.

Barry now resides in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, after spending some years in Toronto, Ontario. There he worked as a lithographer, and later as the first electronic artist in Canada, doing electronic artwork for Toronto’s largest advertising agencies.

Barry works in acrylic, and has sold his paintings worldwide, most recently in Germany and the Netherlands. He has also painted commercially for the Toronto Real Estate Board and Via Rail.

With use of colour and composition, Barry strives to create artwork that challenges the viewer to stop, and look again.

Barry shows his work at the Birthplace of B.C. Gallery in Fort Langley, British Columbia.
