Brent Heighton
Brent Heighton has been painting professionally for over thirty years. After studying art at Algonquin College in Ottawa and Kwantlen College in Vancouver he has been a self-sustaining artist with a brief career in commercial arts. In 1988, Brent was named a Master of the Federation of Canadian Artists. He is the youngest artist ever to receive this honour.
Brent Heighton's art is recognized for its achievement in pure expression. His distinctive style is characterized by spontaneous, free flowing washes of colour which is a result of years of experimentation, and willingness to constantly push the boundaries of painting and his vision. Brent has received many awards throughout North America.
Today, Brent works from his studio in Surrey, B.C. and in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. His travels to France, Holland, Belgium, Spain and Greece have enabled him to find the different light intriguing and exciting.
Brent shows his work at the Birthplace of B.C. Gallery in Fort Langley, British Columbia.
