Biography:

It was her love of Canadiana that resulted in an exciting invitation to display Dianna’s works for the Queen and visiting heads of state during the 1987 Commonwealth Conference.

Twenty years later, this fondness for her heritage is just as evident in much of her present work. Interweaving childhood memories of life on the Canadian Prairies with the present to create an image of a derelict automobile, children in a washtub or flowers in an antique vase is an invitation to close your eyes, smile and remember when....

Creating via many different mediums, she strives for works that sing with light and shadow, texture and rich colour in a distinctive style that has garnered her many top awards.

Dianna travels the world teaching the art of pastel. She is a Senior Signature Member and Past President of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Her exciting pastels have earned her Master Pastellist status with the Pastel Artists of Canada and Premier Pastellist status in the Pastel Society of Canada and in the year 2007 she was inducted into the Master Circle in the International Association of Pastel Societies.

"I am drawn to quietly touch what I find abandoned and to ponder the obvious questions, trying wistfully, I suppose, to evoke the sights and sounds that must have surrounded it in its prime. Inevitably all things do turn to dust, but as an artist, this fact seems a little less melancholy when, after the elements have scrubbed the slate clean, I can open up my hand and smile at the small piece I’ve held back."
